Objects abstracted from context become abstract themselves. In this case, the context is contemporary Sonoma, but when placed in a vacuum, the artifacts lose their meaning so one may attribute new meaning to them. As an experiment in interpretation, Lely collaborated with writer Daedalus Howell to explore one reading of these objects.
